Keeping it in the family — The Pilam legacy connection program

Perhaps the only bonds that are stronger than the ones we build with our fraternity brothers are those that we have with our families and relatives. But even stronger bonds have formed when both traditions are shared.

It’s pretty common to introduce your family to an experience that meant a lot to you, and many of us have “talked up” Pilam to our sons, cousins, brothers, and other blood relatives in hopes that they might enjoy a similar experience. Those who choose to follow in our footsteps and join Pilam are called “legacy” brothers.

Legacies have proven to be very strong brothers… Kent “Flounder” Dorfman, a legacy from Harrisburg, notwithstanding.

Making the path to Pilam easier for Legacies

We’d love to see more family connections share the PiLam experience. The new Legacy Connection Program will make it easier for legacies to join our brotherhood and carry on the Pi Lambda Phi tradition.

The program ensures that the Pilam story is not only yours, but also one that can be shared across generations. Together, families can build on a common experience that lasts a lifetime.

How the Legacy program works

Free First Year of National Dues

If you are a legacy currently enrolled at a college with an active Pilam chapter, you can join without paying national dues for your first year. (Note: Local chapter dues may still apply.)

Opportunities to Start New Chapters

If your school doesn’t yet have a Pilam chapter, you can still benefit. Our headquarters staff will partner directly with you and your peers to explore starting a new chapter on your campus, equipping you with the guidance, tools, and resources to succeed.

Who qualifies as a legacy?

Legacies include sons, grandsons, nephews, cousins, and other relatives of Pilam alumni.
