Florida State distinguishes itself with three chapter awards, including Outstanding Chapter

Congratulations to the 2026 George A. Beck Outstanding Chapter Award recipient, Florida State University! At Convention in Chicago, the Florida Epsilon Lambda chapter was recognized for outstanding operations, including recruitment, new member education, finances, and leadership. The brothers were also recognized for their philanthropy and community service efforts, receiving the Philanthropy Award, and the William “Snap” Melniker Community Service Award.

Chapter Rex Grant Bryant said of the honor, “We are humbled to receive the awards. For us, it comes down to strong leadership, dedication, and genuine love we have for the fraternity.” 

Focused on excellence

The chapter, which was reestablished in 2019 and officially rechartered in 2025, has more than 120 members. Grant said, “Even though we’re smaller than other fraternities on campus, we always make the extra effort to excel in philanthropy and service. We like to work hard and play hard, but everyone puts in the work when we have goals.” 

During the 2025-26 academic year, the chapter raised nearly $40,000 for charitable organizations.

• Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS): Raised approximately $16,500. The chapter was recognized as the Title Sponsor and highest fundraiser in the Big Bend for the second consecutive year.
• FSL LineDance: Raised approximately $12,000 and was named Fraternity of the Year for the third consecutive year among all IFC fraternities.
• Dance Marathon: Raised $6,250 in support of Dance Marathon’s annual fundraising efforts.
• Relay for Life: Raised $2,495, more than doubling their original fundraising goal of $1,000.
• Best Buddies: Raised $2,396, more than doubling their $1,000 goal and finishing 3rd in fundraising among all IFC chapters.
