Pi Lambda Phi's Philanthropy

In January 2005, Pi Lambda Phi was searching for a philanthropy that corresponded with Pi Lambda Phi's vision.  The International Executive Council conducted a search for potential partners.  At the conclusion of the search, the IEC invited these groups to present to our undergraduates.  That feedback allowed the IEC to select the March of Dimes as the preferred philanthropy of Pi Lambda Phi.

The March of Dimes' mission touches millions of families by improving the health of babies by preventing birth defects and decreasing infant mortality.  The March of Dimes provides a tremendous benefit to the community.  The March of Dimes has been instrumental in many of our alumni and undergraduates' lives. 

March of Dimes mission is to "to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality. They carry out this mission through research, community services, education and advocacy to save babies' lives. March of Dimes researchers, volunteers, educators, outreach workers and advocates work together to give all babies a fighting chance against the threats to their health: prematurity, birth defects, low birthweight."

The March of Dimes hosts the annual March for Babies walk.  The March is held at hundereds of locations throughout the US in March and April.  The March for Babies was previously known as Walk America.

Many of our chapters have done successful philanthropic fundraisers like "Dime's on a Line" and we encourage them to keep up the good work!  Your work does not go unnoticed as March of Dimes and Pi Lambda Phi IHQ truly thanks you.

Is your chapter having trouble coming up with a good philanthropy idea?  Well look no further than your local March of Dimes chapter.  March of Dimes has many local offices all across the U.S. that are more than happy to work with your chapter.  Many times they already have events going on that your chapter can just simply participate in and fundraise for.  Also, if you really want to do your own event, feel free to include the local chapter.  They will be more than willing to help with organizing, coming up with ideas or just assisting you to make it as successful as possible.
