Two Chapters to Receive Their Charters
Two Chapters to Receive Their Charters The
process of starting, or in this case, restarting a chapter can be daunting.
However, two chapters of Pi Lambda Phi took on that challenge and succeeded.
This month our chapters at Temple University, PA Alpha Delta, and Western
Carolina University, NC Omega Zeta, will be receiving their charters during two
chartering ceremonies. “As President of
the International Executive Council, the most rewarding experience I've
had is witnessing a successful re-colonization of one of our chapters. Together
we will partner to Ensure the Longevity of the PA Alpha Delta and NC Omega
Zeta Chapter of Pi Lambda Phi Fraternity,” said Jeff Buhler, IEC President.
Both
chapters had previously been closed. In 2007, NC
Omega Zeta was re-colonized, followed by PA Alpha Delta in 2009. Like most
chapters, both colonies faced many challenges, but they were able to overcome
them through strong leadership and determination. “The leadership [the Brothers
of NC Omega Zeta] have shown over the past two years has set a very high
standard for the officers in coming years,” said NC Omega Zeta’s Chapter
Advisor, Scott Russell. Similarly, Ryan Overturf, the PA Alpha Delta Chapter
Advisor, stated that he was “exceptionally proud of [the Brothers of PA Alpha
Delta] for the alacrity with which they were able to do it.”
PA
Alpha Delta’s chartering banquet will be held April 20 in Philadelphia, PA. NC
Omega Zeta’s banquet will be the following the weekend on April 28 in
Cullowhee, NC. |
